Inter Faculty Games '06- Swimming (Open for registration)




1. Each faculty may register a maximum of 2 competitors and 1 reserve for each individual event and 1 team and 2 reserves for each relay.

2. Each swimmer is permitted to participate in a maximum of 3 individual events (including registration as reserves) and any number open events and relays.

3. The individual championship will be awarded to the swimmer who wins the most number of gold medals for the individual and open events

NUS Triathlon 2006- Outswim, Outbike, Outrun



If you wanna put yourself to the test, push your physical limits and see how far you can go, NUS Triathlon is just for you! It features a 1.5km swim, 60km bike and 15km run around the city landscape of Singapore! Register now for the event on 13th August. Several meds are participating in the event this year as well. Inter-Faculty Games'06

Its a brand new academic year and once again the faculties across NUS will be converging to compete in IFG'06-07! Here are the latest updates!

An IFG Sports awards will be established. Hence, teams and individuals from various faculties will be recognised for their efforts in the events! An overall winner of IFG will also be born. Time for us to flex our muscles!

Look out for the sporting events that are happening in the 1st Semester and the people in charge of the various teams. Come down and be part of our effort to not just be the top sporting faculty here at NUS, but bond as a Faculty as well!

Most importantly, Medicine will be hosting Floorball IFG this semester. Hence, we would need as much help and support not just from the floorballers but each and every one of you for this event to be a success. Floorball IFG will be held as a one day carnival on 25th August 2006!

Faculty of Medicine Shield (Intra Faculty Games 2006-07)

FMS Challenge Shield is back! It will be held in the month of September with the aim of bringing the 5 years of medical students together to compete in team sports and bond as a Faculty! Do visit this site regularly to check for updates on the Games. Please contact your sports rep of your batch if you want a piece of the action as part of your batch team! the current M3s will be looking forward to retain the title, with potential stiff challenges from the M2s and M1s. The M4s and M5s will be back with a vengence to show that they're not out of touch yet as well! Other than taking part as a sportsman, be there to support your batchmates too! Tentative details of the Games are:

Medsoc Sports will also be organising a Futsal Challenge (7-a-side) on the 09/09 and 10/09 to raise funds for charity organisations. Details will be made available soon. We look forward to support from students and teaching faculty of Medicine to come together and have fun while raising funds for the less fortunate at the same time. MUNUS Finale







The Games drew to a close after 2 days of intense sporting action. NUS edged out UM by an overall score of 5-4 with wins in Handball, Squash, Soccer, Basketball and Tennis. Friendships were formed, memories were savoured. This leaves us to looking forward to UM hosting the event next year where NUS will look to retain the trophy, but more importantly, reinforce the ties and friendships that have been established. Well done all players!

MedSoc Sports would like to thank all who have helped out and participated in the Games in one way or another. Without you guys, this event would not have been possible. Special mention goes to the M1s(2005-06) in the Sports Comm, the various sports captains, as well as our guides who have put in a huge amount effort and enthusiasm in making this event a success!

MUNUS Tennis




A closely contested match under extremely tough weather conditions. credit goes to players from both sides enduring the hot weather to put in their best in the game, which was the decider for the MUNUS challenge trophy. Special mention goes to Eunice from M3 for an incredible win and effort over her UM counterpart. Well done tennis team!

Highly entertaining match more of goodwill than competition. A clash of two highly fit sides with little experience in the game. Full marks for enthusiasm and effort!

MUNUS Basketball









This is a total thriller that went into overtime after an almost point for point encounter for most of the match. NUS proved to be the fitter of the two teams and edged our opponents out with FG shooting during extra time.

MUNUS Table Tennis





Having lost 2 events, NUS looked to make a comeback with Table tennis. Despite a tremendous concentrated effort, our inexperienced side still went down to the more technically skillful UM people. Credits to Donald Foo for winning a thriller game against the top seed from UM that was something really worth cheering about. Here are the results:

MUNUS Games- Celebrating the Centennial Heritage



The annual University of Malaya-National University of Singapore (MUNUS) Medical Faculty Games '06 was held from the 29th June to 1st July. Themed "The Heritage that binds", it serves to celebrate the fact that both universities' medical faculty were once a single institution King Edward VII Medical College before the schools split when Singapore became independent in 1965. Since then, the students from both schools have been meeting annually to compete in sporting events for the MUNUS Shield. This year has been especially meaningful as NUS hosted the MUNUS'06 which commemorates the centennial year since were once a family.

50 medical students from UM came from across the Causeway to NUS to compete in a series of sports, namely volleyball, badminton, table tennis, basketball, netball, soccer, tennis and squash.
